海神祭(ハーリー)は毎年旧暦5月4日に行われ、久部良漁港では爬竜船によるハーリー競漕が繰り広げられます。

漁の安全と豊漁を願う伝統行事で、沖縄本島から移住してきた海人たちによって伝えられたといわれています。

海人の多い久部良集落にとって一年で最も盛り上がる日で、2026年は6月18日に開催されました！

豊年祭

豊年祭は毎年旧暦6月以降の吉日に行われ、一年の豊年に感謝して来年の豊年を祈る、島の年中行事で最もにぎやかな祭りです。

集落ごとに旗頭が立ち、棒踊りや舞踊が披露されます。

東西に分かれて行う大綱引きも見どころで、夜は十山御嶽の庭でドゥンタ(巻き踊り)が行われ、島全体が熱気に包まれますよ！
