What is Kubura Port?

Kubura Port is a fishing port on Yonaguni Island where seafood from coastal and nearby waters is landed.

If you are lucky, you may be able to see a big marlin, far taller than a person, land in the water.

Ferries connecting Yonaguni Island and Ishigaki Island also arrive and depart from this Kubura port.

The "International Marlin Fishing Tournament" is held every July, and if you are lucky, you may be able to see marlin up close.

About Yonaguni Folk Museum

This private museum is located near Sonai Fishing Port in the northwestern part of Yonaguni Island.

It was built by Mr. and Mrs. Ikema, who used to be doctors, to pass on the history of Yonaguni to future generations.

The museum has a collection of old folk tools, daily necessities, old documents, and other valuable materials, and part of the private house is open to the public.

There are also beaches in the vicinity, including the beautiful Nanta Beach.

How to play Yonaguni Folk Museum

The museum preserves valuable tools of daily life actually used in the island's daily life.

By experiencing Yonaguni's disappearing culture, visitors can learn more about the island's charms.

Open from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm, closed Saturdays, Sundays, national holidays, and the Lunar New Year holidays.

What is Dr. Koto Clinic?

Dr. Koto Clinic is a location set used for filming the popular TV drama "Dr. Koto Clinic.

The waiting room and office, including props, have been preserved as they were in the drama, making it a very exciting tourist attraction for drama fans.

How to play Dr. Koto Clinic

The set used for the filming of Dr. Coto Clinic is preserved as it was actually used. Admission is 300 yen, and there is no staff; visitors place their money on a tray.

There is an outside staircase at the back of the building that leads up to the rooftop. From there, you can see the sandy beach and beautiful ocean in front of you, a spot that even those unfamiliar with the drama can enjoy.

This is a semi-submersible submarine sightseeing boat that allows you to enjoy the beautiful sea and topography of Yonaguni Island without going into the water.

What is Gunkan Iwa?

Located in the eastern part of the island, this large rock can be seen from the observation platform on the Sanninu platform.

It is known along with Tachigami Rock.

It was named "Gunkan Iwa" (meaning "warship rock") because the sight of the waves splashing against the rock looks like a warship sailing on the rough sea.

How to play Gunkan Iwa

Gunkan Iwa can be viewed from the Sanninu-dai Observatory.

From the observatory, you can see the beautiful sea, the sun, and the horizon of Yonaguni Island.
